Coltivaitalia: over one billion in new resources for Italian agriculture
Coltivaitalia opens a new investment horizon for Italian agriculture. For businesses planning their development over the coming years, now is the time to begin defining projects and priorities.
Updated 18 September 2026
What the measure provides for
The Coltivaitalia bill – Measures for the consolidation and development of the agricultural sector provides for over one billion euro of new resources for the farming sector. Coltivaitalia acts across several areas that are strategic for the primary sector, with measures aimed at strengthening supply chains, generational renewal, research, business competitiveness and certain specific production sectors.
Where the bill stands
The measure was approved by the Chamber of Deputies on 6 August 2026 and is now before the Senate. We are therefore not yet looking at the opening of new calls to which applications can be submitted, nor have all the operational arrangements through which the various resources may be used yet been defined.Source: bill progress sheets — Chamber of Deputies (A.C. 2670) and Senate of the Republic (S. 2015).
Why it pays to plan now
For farms and wineries considering investments over the coming years, the important step is to begin planning before the future operational measures open.
Defining a development plan today means identifying the investments the business genuinely needs, setting their priorities, carrying out a preliminary feasibility check and building a coherent programme for the 2026–2028 period. Once the implementing arrangements for Coltivaitalia are defined, it will then be possible to establish which works can actually fall within the measures provided for.
